Dr. Shanthi Konkoth

Dr. Shanthi Konkoth is passionate about her community, her country and her duty to her students as a teacher and administrator. Her background in academic, assessment and accreditation-evaluation lends her a nuanced and singular perspective in the field of education as well. Shanthi has a track record for creating and successfully implementing brand new programs in several disciplines as well as leading colleges through institutional and programmatic accreditations with programmatic national and regional accrediting bodies.Shanthi has been a classroom instructor, a chair of the business division in a proprietary school and was most recently the Provost of a regionally accredited, degree-granting institution with campuses in New York and Florida. She also worked as a higher education accreditation consultant in New York and Virginia.

Shanthi came to the United States in 1986 with a B.A. in English Literature from Stella
Maris College. She received her Master’s in Business Administration from New YorkInstitute of Technology and began her career in higher education as an Administrative Assistant to the MBA Program Director, Dr Marvin Weiss, at New York Institute of Technology in 1987.

Like many immigrants, Shanthi has had to work hard and make many sacrifices to successfully meet the challenges that all senior leaders encounter. “Seeing my students go on to have successful careers gives me tremendous satisfaction,” she says. Seeing her students taking on challenging roles in the healthcare, business, computers, and criminal justice fields motivated and inspired her to challenge herself in new ways. She completed her doctoral program from St. John’s University’s School of Education in 2016.

Dr. Viola Krebs

Dr. Viola Krebs joined UBIS in 2012. She is a Professor for topics ranging from International Business, Web Strategies, Intercultural Communication and People and Politics. After severing as the Dean for E-Learning in 2016, putting in place a new e-learning platform, she became the Dean of the University in 2017.

Has 30 years of business experience. She has worked in both the public and the private sectors, including the World Economic Forum (WEF), Merrill Lynch, UBS SA and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNDRR). She is also the Founder of ICVolunteers, an international non-profit organization focusing on communications, which she directed for 15 years.

Dr. Krebs has lead numerous international projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Further, she has formally been involved in different UN summits and processes (World Summit on the Information Society, Strategy Council of the United Nations Global Alliance for ICT and Development, etc.).

She is the author and editor of a number of articles and publications, focusing on communication and technology, globalization, migration and languages, bilingual education and the non-profit sector.

Dr. Krebs obtained a Ph.D. in Sciences of Information and Communications from the University of Strasbourg, France and a Master’s Degree in Sciences of Communication and Media from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. For her undergraduate studies she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities (Socio-Linguistics, Spanish and English) from the same University.

Donna R Young

Donna has worked in higher education for more than 20 years as an instructor, Program Director, Dean of Education, Director of Instructional Design and Delivery, and Director of Curriculum. She has built and managed multiple LMS platforms for course delivery, constructed online courses, developed original content, and taught online classes. She has worked with all major US publishers integrating content, and establishing single sign-on access for students and faculty. Donna has also developed training courses and orientation classes for course delivery and faculty in-service activities. She has developed a wide variety of programs and uses her background and experience to explore and develop exciting ways to deliver educational opportunities for our communities.

Dr. Antonina Santalova

Dr. Antonina Santalova has over 20 years of experience in governmental and non-governmental agencies, along with a firm grounding in research and teaching. She has been teaching Social Policy course at Oxford University for over ten years, was an instructor for a number of courses at the American University in Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan) and led numerous seminars and workshops in institutions of China and Russia. She launched a start-up in education consultancy endorsed by the University of Oxford in 2015.

Dr. Santalova took an active part in formulating and implementing educational policy in Central Asia. Working in the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, she participated in the transformation of the public sector that was taking place after the collapse of the USSR. As a project officer responsible for textbook publication, designing teacher training programmes and the development of an Education Management Information System, Dr. Santalova was instrumental in persuading the Asian Development Bank to invest an additional $6 million in educational development.

Finally she worked as a Country Director for the Academy for Educational Development (USA) in Kyrgyzstan, managing a team of experts from international organisations and national state departments, which piloted a series of policy initiatives including: per capita funding of school education (in cooperation with Abt Associates); community participation in school management (with Save the Children, UK); school infrastructure development (with Save the Children, USA) and interactive methods of teaching (with Open Society Foundation spin-offs). Dr.
Santalova’s contribution to the development of the educational sector in Kyrgyzstan was awarded with a Diploma of Excellence.

Dr. Santalova holds a Ph.D. in Social Policy from the University of Oxford, UK, a MPhil in Comparative Social Policy from the same university, and a MA in Marketing from the National State University, Kyrgyzstan as well as BA in Linguistics from the same university.

Anneliese Cousineau is the Global Registrar for UBIS with a background in international higher education and study abroad programming. Before joining academia, Anneliese’s experience spanned clinical health care, government, and tourism and hospitality.

Pursuing her passion for global affairs, she completed a Masters of Science in International Relations and Global Studies from Northeastern University (Boston, USA). Anneliese has a particular interest in international visa codes and supporting a diverse and thriving student experience. Descendant from German, Russian, and French-English family heritage, Anneliese is passionate about the power of global citizens.

She encourages everyone to learn from differing world views, consider opposing perspectives, and experience other cultures whenever possible.

I thrive in guiding my clients on the definition of their objectives and reach inspiration by creating strategies that allow them to achieve their goals. I have a deep passion for merging academia and real business, as well as for the transformation of problems into opportunities.

I design personal employability strategies for students. I focus on the creation and development of insightful corporate partnerships with national and international companies, in order to provide internship opportunities for students; as well as on the development of content, case studies, and problem-solving scenarios. Additionally, I focus on the creation and nurturing of meaningful academic partnerships with foreign universities and schools, in order to provide students with the opportunity to study abroad. I manage extracurricular projects and activities (i.e. academic conferences, social activities, workshops, and training), as well as the execution of exclusive relocation services for students, which includes legal services; guidance for local housing; insurance & banking products.
